Being the first game of the season & a new format it took sometime for everybody including parents to get used to the new rules, field & goal size. We welcomed three new players to this team from last year, that being Mitchell, Patrick & Bronson. Mitchell & Matthew carved the opposition with 7 & 6 goals respectively. Oscar's defence was great, not to mention the three goals he belted home. Congratulations to Patrick for scoring 2 goals in his first game. There will be plenty more to come from what I sore today. Nathan, Bronson & Christian also had strong games, the result was a real team effort. The season looks like it will be quite enjoyable for the boys, not sure for the opposition. I sure that soccer was the talk in the school yard on Monday. Well done boys. Great effort.

After a couple of weeks off due to school holidays & wet weather the boys come back together well. Some fantastic goals were scored with the kids starting to know each others game. The opposition played well considering they were down one player in the first halve. Having felt sorry for them we offered a Normo player on a rotation rooster. Big thanks to Mitchell, Bronson & Christian for helping out. Apart from the score the highlight of the games was Christian's goal & Patrick's slide tackle on Mitchell as he was about to score a goal for the opposition.

This game was a comfortable win for Normo with the girls getting on top of an underdone West Ryde Rovers outfit.Unfortunately with the rain and a bye the Rovers girls were playing their first match of the season. Our Normo girls quickly moved the ball wide and exploited a slope and the oppositions lack of match fitness. In particular Kathy and Penny opened strongly and ran off some adept passing from Nat and Annie (before she was winded) Ali also was solid and is showing what a handy player she is with her ability to play in any position. Our first goal came after 15 minutes when Bonner latched onto a pass and buried it. Penny followed up a few minutes later with another goal and we were rarely threatened after that. Our players are knocking the ball around well and the chat is improving each week and the second half saw us stringing together multiple passes. This culminated in a very skilful one one two between Renee and Tanya. Both these girls owned the middle of the park in the second half as West Ryde tried to stem our continuous raids.
The sustained pressure saw us win a penalty and Bonner confidently placed it wide of the keeper.Nat completed our scoring with a strong drive from near the penalty spot. Mention must be made of Jen's courageous effort.Prior to the match she dislocated her little finger while doing goalkeeping preparation.Although in considerable pain she played strongly for most of the game and threatened the goal on numerous occasions. It was satisfying to learn on Monday that the girls are now leading their division.

Another great game for the White A's. Victory was ours to the tune of 12-1. Once again all the children gave their best and displayed great sportsmanship. They even cheered when the other team scored! Emma was our player of the match. She was tireless on the field and showed great passing ability as well as individual skills. Jordan had another good game with his bullet like kicks that always find open space. Jonty used his speed to move the ball up the field and then used this same speed to get back in defence. Nick is pure determination and is always focussed on getting the ball into the goal. Matthew is a keen defender and knows how to back up his team mates. Isaac is developing some great dribbling skills and is always on the look out for a goal opportunity. Keep up the great work everybody.
Normo's mighty 10 7s took on both the Redbacks and band camp this week with the bare 11 players [including Aidan from the under 8's]but still managed to orchestrate a comprehensive 5 -1 victory. As the conductor for the day ,Adam Ant led the team onto the field the murmurings in the audience were about how in tune they all looked today. The Ant kept in the first half to ensure his side played to the beat of the same drum. It wasnt long before Normo took ascendancy of the game , a hold with which they never let go . The passing of Normo had the redbacks reeling and before long Alexander the Great had potted the first of his 3 goals before half time .
Tireless Cyrus seemed to have the ball on a string and put the wind up the redbacks defence. The Normo midfield used the full width of the pitch with Invadin' Aidan ,Doc Martin and Matt the Beast being instrumental in the lead up to the goals . Aidan slotted in a goal to make it 4 zip at halftime and the violins were out for a tired redback side . The second half saw the Normo players swap positions , with defenders becoming attackers and vice versa. The Doc went in goals and handled it well .Superback Zac and the Dominator became our attack and had the crowd applauding when the Dominator put away our fifth for the day . Louis the Lion ,Adam Ant and Jacob the Slayer continued their improvement with many strong tackles and clearing kicks .
Special mention to the Captain [ James ] who was a standout . He was never beaten to the ball and diffused everything the redbacks could throw at him Now that the boys have mastered the full time huddle it now only remains to do some decent goal celebrations and then they will be the complete team .
Normo 11/4 we down on numbers, but not as much as Northern HFC were down players, but they played well for there lack of numbers was made up for by their skill. It made for an intertaining and open game. The boys showng some much improved passing skills to open the game. We got good pressure on the goal, Frank had some shots that were not far off target, and was unlucky not to have scored. Jacob, Zac and Tim Demasi did some excellent work during the course of the half, as did Lachlan and Parick, playing at the back for the first time. NHFC without much ball scored two goals on counter attacks and we finished the hald at 0-2. 11/4s pressured NHFC playing most of the second half, and played in their half, although a couple of half chances presented, none were converted until Lachlan managed to put one away. We kept up the pressure but the ball was not falling for the boys, but not for lack of trying. Patrick, Jamie, Lachlan and Alisitair were all great in the second half. Chris
The best game of the season so far despite starting with nine players and playing most of the game with ten. Two great goals in the first half to Fred and then Will saw a half-time scoreline of 2-0. A couple of costly errors saw STA level the scores and Normo were unlucky not to score on a number of occassions in the second half. Having run themselves to a standstill Normo had to settle for a draw as the final result but will take a lot of positives out of this game. Well done boys.
Only saw the first half and left with the Blues on top at 1-1 after a lapse in midfiled let teh hawks get the lead with a wonderful shot that Matt in goal got his hands to but was unable to prevent flying into the net. The response was immedaite and effective with Josh on the left rounding 2 players before putting an unstoppable shot past the keeper into the bottom right hand side of their net. A second from him nearly followed but just scrapped the bar.
Lachlan made a goal saving tackle and was as strong as ever, nobly assisted by David and Jack M who cut off any further attacks. There were some strong links between the mids and the attack, but th final killer touch was missing. Not sure what happend after the break as Jack Mac put the home team in the lead and teh boys were looking goodas teh opposition managed to put 2 in teh goal to finish off the game stronger.Maybe the snake energy had run out?!
In what was always going to be a hard game against runaway leaders YMA, the blues really made them fight for everything and the score was NO justification at all to all the effort that was put in by the boys. With only 9 of the regular cast, many thanks goes to Matt/Tim from the U11 who helped in the first half along with Nicholas, Julian, justin from the U10 in the second half.
MA scored from an offside goal ( be nice to get a decison our way for once!) but they did deserve to go ahead on teh general first half play , then put a second in. The second half was all Normo - with a dozen chances but unfortunately none found the back of the net.Their keeper made some great saves.Against the run of play, their forward hit an Up n under shot that bounced over the keeper - lady luck was not with us today. Each game the Blues are getting better and stronger and a win/goal is not too far away. oliver and connot up front had their best games, whilst Ben F was always involved .The defence played tightly and deserved recognition
3 out of 3 wins - what a great start. To be quite honest in a very tight first half, the ladies were lucky to be 1-0 up at the break after 2 shots from YMA just went wide. But a cross from Michelle found Natalie to prod home for the advantage. The opposition had been more eager to get the ball and only tight defending saw them off. Into the second half and all the players were first to the ball this time and much more competitive and this was rewarded with a through ball to Michelle who rounded the keeper beautifully and knocked it into the open net.
YMA had a break down the right flank and for the first time beat the ever steady Jen and a lucky cross just managed somehow to cross the line before Sybil ( who gamely volunteered in be keeper and made some great stops) could get to it. A few flurries and once again Michelle found her shot from the right side pass through several defenders into the back of the net for her second and that killed the game off. There were terrific performances from Keely and Kelly at the back, with Angela here there and everywhere in midfield. An overall excellent performance against a younger more mobile opposition, but skill and tenacity won in the end.

After waiting so long to get back on the pitch the boys had the added frustration of losing 4 players to the annual Normo Public School Band Camp. 2 of our boys (Tim & Curley) also helped out another team before our match so it was always going to be a tough game. Fortunately re-inforcements came from the 10/2's so at least we had a full squad and 2 reserves. WPH dominated early but our defence held firm and there was really no decent chances. We then took the ball to the other end of the field and looked to have scored a fair goal but the ref ruled the keeper kept the ball out so it remained 0-0. The pressure was however maintained and after 10 minutes Isaac opened the scoring with a well struck shot inside the box. We almost scored again when Luke has a great opportunity but just put the ball wide. Half time 1-0 Normo. The boys came out very fired up and inside the first minute of the second half we were twice denied by great WPH goalkeeping. WPH then came back into the game and without the desired 2 goal buffer there was always a good chance they could catch us on the rebound.
They did just that fortunately for us the ball went sailing over the bar with only the keeper to beat. In reality that was the only decent shot they had all game and the coaches half time instructions to "keep a clean sheet" never looked in doubt. We controlled the game well in the last 10 minutes but a combination of more great keeping from WPH and finishing not to our normal standard kept the score at 1-0. All in all a great effort against last years premiers, considering the 4 players out and 5 of the squad playing their second game.
Best on the day were Matty Corish, Josh C, Tim and Curley. A special mention to the 3 boys from the 10/2's (Matt, Harrison and James), who all did their jobs extremely well in a higher division aginst older boys.
Within seconds after the whistle we knew it was going to be a hard match. For the first 10 mins the play was in our half and Kenthurst were pounding Aaron in the goals. Despite excellent defending tackles from Joe, Nick and Louis Kenthurst kicked an early goal and it looked uphill from here on. We had limited opportunity to attack however with Jack providing good passes up to the forwards Shannon finally found some space and put the equaliser into the net or rather a whole in the net which almost lead to the goal not being awarded. From this point on the boys had their heads up and the play was more even. Aaron K saved several close attempts however Kenthurst managed to retain their lead with a second goal.
The boys maintained their efforts and Kenthurst wasn’t able to relax. Again Aaron did a commanding job in the backs supported by Cameron who threw his body on the line with a bone crushing tackle that left both players seeing stars momentarily. A hand ball gave us a chase to equalise with a free kick that Shannon put it past the goalie better than Beckham. However to the crowd’s amazement the Ref declared it no goal as he decided the penalty was indirect. Bhah!! Despite the loss this was the first goal Kenthurst had conceded this season which is a commendable result.

After all the rain it was so good to have such a perfect day. This was the boys best game so far, they were a player short and up against a very evenly matched team. Down 2 nil early in the game,Robbie started the fight back with a great goal, then another from Kevin and a brilliant run by Jack from halfway and driving our third into the net, had the game locked at 3 all. Aidan played his usual stunning game leaving a string of opposition players wondering were he went. Charlie showed a few tricky moves a put through some good passes, Santhosh made some good runs down the left wing. Jared played well in defence and was solid on the ball when he drifted forward. However the star of the game this week was Josh, who was outstanding in defence, stopping countless attacks. It was only in the final minutes that Kenthurst scored the winning goal.

what a treat for the boys to be playing at home in the sunshine & in front of the home crowd who encouraged them so enthusiastically.the boys started strong with a nice goal early from a determined bryce.the team got really fired up after this & really started playing well as a team calling & passing effectively, moving the ball up into the opposition territory smoothly.excellent mid-field play by reuben&theo who worked tirelessly to keep the ball rolling up to the forwards.the boys fitness is really becoming evident. further great team work led to subsequent awesome goals from eddie(nugget)best to stay out of his way when he's at full steam & swift little lachlan, whos blonde hair could be seen blazing up& down the wing driving the opponents crazy.Emma was brave&worked hard challenging her opponents continually(pony-tail flying in the wind).harry also had a much improved game, getting alot more ball & making a few good breaks. strong&confident defence shown by dont mess with..daisy(as always), nicholas & zac who played in position beautifully& left the goalies for the day cohen&isharn without a touch of the ball from memory.collin made some nice breaks & steals from the opposition down the wing,he was just too fast for the opposition defenders.
the second half saw the ball leave the oppositions half only once or twice..they didnt get too far before the defenders did their jobs & sent the ball hurtling back over the halfway line to the hungry mid-fielders who snapped it up&serged towards opposition goals. there were some great attempts at goals going to show the boys like to have a go.of course there is always room for improvement & the boys are becoming more aware of the off-side rule !
but you have to admire their enthusiasm.the poor goalie from the opposition was left bewildered when making his goal kicks as there was so much noise coming from both teams i think he got overwhelmed.the final blow for our opponents came with a quick further 2 goals from bryce(in his lucky new blue boots) the last one being powerful&proving without a doubt normanhurst 10/5 will be the ones to beat this year!! well done boys keep up the good work & keep believing in yourselves.thanks to all the parent helpers&supporters.

Round 4 saw it all come together for the Emerton Under 6 Red Bs. Some great teamwork and real improvements in our defensive efforts saw the boys enjoying their breakthrough win for the season. Our coaches can take credit for focusing the team on their defensive positioning as well as passing to team-mates when in attack. The scoring was opened by Cooper after his usual fearless attack on the ball, and was soon followed up by a terrific effort from Bradley, who was everywhere and was soon rewarded by a goal. The next two goals were scored by Owen, with one of them a length of the field effort set up by Eddy and finished off by Owen.
The Normo boys had a few more unlucky near misses as they played with increasing confidence and rhythm. The Hawks rallied in the second half, but some excellent support play by Cameron, Thomas and Benjamin stopped the Hawks from getting the upper hand - they scored twice but could not overcome Normanhurst's lead. Our boys showed that they are coming together as a team and have made great strides on both defence and attack. It was a difficult choice to pick a player of the match, with some power kicks, sound defence and great effort shown by so many, but Bradley found something extra today and was a deserving winner.
The Hawks were courageous opponents and the spirit of the game was summed up by the 'three cheers' that each team gave the other after the match. Well done Owen, Cooper, Eddy, Thomas, Benjamin, Cameron and Bradley!

The boys gave a great showing to the passionate crowd up at Thornleigh oval even though we came up just short. The game started off at a fact pace, with neither side getting the ascendancy. Our backline was held sturdy as Clancy the goalkeeper pulled of a brilliant save to keep us in the game. Their players were starting to get frustrated and as a result, Jaimie calmly slotted the ball into the net, and we were up 1-0 just after half-time.
After the match wore on, The Hawks were able to snatch two late goals. Every player was putting in 110% effort but it wasnt to be our day as they just prevailed. It was a brave performance by our boys and should be congratulated on their efforts. Special thanks to Lachlan and Josh who had the time to help us out and provide extra legs for us.

The second game of the season was very evenly matched. Once again the children gave their all, playing with enthusiasm and style! Emma and Jordan were great at creating and taking advantage of any space and both defended admirably. Nick made a beeline for the goals and finished off with finesse. Matthew was always ready and waiting whenever the ball came his way. Isaac loves to feel the ball at his feet and was strong in both defence and attack. Jonty had a tireless game, showing great determination and skill particularly in defence. Another great game well done everybody.

The Team had a good game considering they missed training due to the ground being closed. The game highlighted that the Team need to work on their defense, they learnt a lot from Kenthurst who seemed to have it together. Robert played really well and deserved player of the week.
It is indeed a funny thing that histroy can repeat itself. In virtually the same round against the same team last year the 10/5's as we were then suffered the same fate. Let hope we can have history repeat itself again at the other end of the season, and have us progress thorugh to the Grand Final. We have some work to do in the mean time. We fronted up to a Macquarie team which has played together with the same roster since U9, and had been training since January. They were a cohesive unit to say the least. While we were outplayed at times, the boys showed enough that they could take it to them and play some football ourselves. I had noticed that during the second half that we were starting to run out of legs somewhat.
Note to Normo Public School, don't run your cross country on a Friday. All the boys put in a great effort as they were certainly showing the effects of backing up from Fridays run. Great individual efforts from Zac Ben and Jeremy at the back, Alister in goals and especially on the field in the 2nd half, Jack H also showed he is improving every game, and Cameron for some booming kicks. Tim H ran his legs off in the 1st half, and then stepped up and went in goals in the second. We were very busy and made many saves and stopped a free kick in the box, well done Tim.

A great match by all of the team. The boys passed the ball to eachother, rather than dribbliing it themselves. Although the score would appear to be a thrashing, it was a great match due to the teamwork displayed on the field. We were cheering the other team to get on the scoreboard though! Nicolas W was the player of the match, with wonderful passing, and control of the ball. Daniel G was the primary goal scorer with 6 goals, Morgan L got 2 goals, and Nicholas W got 2 goals. Nicholas V was a superb midfielder and defender, ensuring the oppositions score remained at 0, and Sophie Mc blocked a few balls.
